Microsoft to roll out Windows 10 Mobile app for iOS and Android via the Xbox app store

Microsoft will soon launch an app for iPhones and Android devices that will let gamers download Windows 10 mobile games on Windows 10 PCs.

The app, titled Microsoft Windows 10 Games, will launch on Tuesday.

The new app, which is similar to Microsoft’s popular Games for Windows app, is a “simple way for players to access their favorite Xbox 360 and Xbox One games across the Xbox App Store, Windows 10 PC, and Windows 10 Xbox One, Windows 7 and Windows Phone 8 apps,” Microsoft said in a blog post Tuesday.

“We’re excited to bring the Xbox Games app to more devices, but we also know that there’s a need for more apps for Windows 10,” Xbox co-founder and CEO Joe Belfiore said in the post.

“The Windows 10 apps team has worked hard on bringing new gaming experiences to Xbox One and Windows PCs, and this new app brings the Xbox games experience to a new audience.”

Microsoft also recently rolled out Xbox Live Gold, which allows Xbox gamers to access and play games from Microsoft’s games library across multiple Xbox platforms.
